Libby Sporting Camps is a full service ORVIS Endorsed Lodge. Every year Orvis inspects our lodge and fishes our waters to make sure we live up to their standards. Since we are 45 miles from the nearest town by private gravel road our operations must be very diverse. The ORVIS endorsed guides and staff have their own quarters and spend the most of seven months with us. A small fly shop with ORVIS equipment, local flies and lures, and other items are located in the lodge.

April 1996, Sports Afield picks the top 12 for blue ribbon fishing, and matching accomodations. Among the twelve was Libby Camps. The criteria used was fishing and related services first, then the quality of accomodations: ie. Private bath, quiet and clean rooms with ample space for gear, good food and drink and ambiance.
In 1997 Sports Afield publishes a guide book to North America's Greatest Fishing Lodges. Again Libby Camps makes the list!
In 2000 Down East magazine highlight Libby's (Northwoods Dynasty), in 2002 listed as top wilderness setting in Maine to get married.
In book "Fly Fishing North America", January 2003 listed as one of the 12 premier lodges in North America.
Field and Stream, October 2004 issue: Libby's listed as premier camp in USA for grouse and woodcock in the article "Four star hunt on a two star budget".
In 2007 Libby Camps won the coveted Orvis Fly Fishing Lodge of the Year for all of North America. This award really sets the lodge apart from the best of the best. The lodge is awarded this using customer surveys on quality of service, fishing, guide, meals, cabins and whether or not customer would recommend to a friend.
The Boston Globe's article in 2009 "Standing the Test of Time" praised Libby's as a 5th generation 120 year old Maine business!
2010 Libby Camps was highlighted in the book "Greatest Fishing Lodges of North America", by Paul Ferson (Random House)
Libby's was chosen as the Maine Tourism Association's Hall of Fame Award for 2010, received as an award for their long service and contributions to Maine's tourism industry. They were chosen as the 2010 recipient by their peers in the tourism industry from all over the state.
